As an expression of our faith and values, the Unitarian Universalist Association takes positions on relevant issues of social justice. The UUA positions are discerned via the social witness process. These statements bear witness to the world on issues of social justice.

Guidelines On Advocacy, Lobbying, and Elections

There are many activities that a religious group can do without jeopardizing its nonprofit tax-exempt status. There are restrictions on certain kinds of political actions, but the range of what is acceptable is wide enough to exhaust the time and resources of any congregation without crossing any regulatory lines.  The Real Rules
