Our Core Mission: Worship
This year UU Santa Fe joined Soul Matters, a UU worship cooperative that provides monthly resources for theme based worship. These have been essential for the creation of our sensory rich worship services. Our digital congregation has grown to nearly a thousand views a month on our Youtube and Facebook sites. In the coming year we will continue working with the Soul Matters themes and to expand our worship teams to include not just words, art and music teams, but movement and media teams as well.
Coffee hour and potlucks, small groups, pastoral calls and visits from the minister, Bridges or care team are all part of the experience we call Beloved Community. Several more small groups have formed this year – almost 80 members, friends and guests are part of a small group, and we hope to increase participation to a hundred in the year to come. In a different kind of Beloved Community our congregation opens its doors to at least a dozen 12-step groups and many programs serving the larger community. We will continue to welcome HaMakom for high holy days, but we will be open and ready to incorporate other community friends.
Programs for kids and adults, elders and families are part of our Lifelong Learning experience which includes classes, workshops, lectures and Meetups. This year we hosted a series of Saturday night family gatherings that were lightly attended but a great deal of fun – we plan to pilot a new Family Ministry Program in August.
The social justice team has been under reconstruction for a year now. We have new teams for hunger and poverty, voting rights, environmental sustainability , and immigration/sanctuary. We are active with the Interfaith Leadership Alliance, with the Faith Network for Immigrant Justice and with Green Fusion. a new fusion coalition working across faith groups and secular environmental organizations here in Santa Fe. Watch out! The energy is high and the possibilities are endless. . .
Your Gifts Make All of These Possible
We know each person contributes in significant ways to the life of UU Santa Fe. Whether you serve on committees, work on special projects, pull weeds, serve food, show up for yellow T-shirt alerts, participate in small group ministries, teach young people, usher, bring cookies, or simply greet each other with a smile and a friendly word, you nurture and shape our vibrant community. Thank you for being part of our liberal religious presence in Santa Fe.
Financial contributions are also an important part of your participation in our congregation. Money sustains our Minister and program staff, our administrative staff, and the infrastructure (building and grounds) that provides a home in which we can shape our vision and pursue our mission.
A pledge is your best estimate of what you will be able to contribute financially to UU Santa Fe during the coming year. Wherever we are going, your pledge sustains us as we walk that path together. Whatever the size of that pledge, you are valued here as a member of our beloved community.
