Youth RE

Religious Education for Youth 2012-13

The Youth RE program will also use our “pillars” of religious education: Fall – Unitarian Universalism; Winter – World Religions; Spring – Social Justice and Earth Stewardship.

Events are also planned throughout the year that will combine the junior and senior youth – including a Ropes course date at Santa Fe Community College in September. Our New Mexico cluster and our Mountain Desert District also sponsor conferences throughout the year. Watch for future announcements of opportunities to join youth activities!

Grades 7/8 – In 2012-13 Our Whole Lives (the comprehensive sexuality course also know as O.W.L.) will be offered on the 1st and 3rd Sunday mornings at 11:00 and the second Friday evening per month, with three overnights during the year, beginning September 14 and continuing through March. Remaining Sunday mornings will offer Religious Education activities following our quarterly pillars of Unitarian Universalism, World religions and Social Justice/Earth Stewardship.

Grades 9-12 – With a focus on the fall, winter and spring topics, a variety of themes and activities will be determined jointly with youth and adults, the and the DRE. “Experts” from our congregation are frequent visitors and presenters.
