Rev. Debra Asis—Episcopal priest, spiritual director and Rev. Gail’s interfaith colleague—is our guest this Sunday. Her sermon references two readings—one from the book of Luke, the other from John Lennon. Rev, Debra writes, “My journey is like a meandering river, or perhaps you could just call it twisted. I have been in the Church and out of the Church, Presbyterian and Taoist, progressive and emerging. No matter the twist or turn along the way, I have always been in conversation with a “Something More” that for years I refused to call “God.” I bookend my days with working out, writing, walking Mojo the dog, studying sacred and not so sacred texts, and meditating. I love art, dance, hiking and daily writing my blog. My role as GiGi with my grandsons Alec and Wesley rocks my world. Several careers including academic, clinical researcher, psychotherapist, program designer, spiritual director and single mom preceded my ordination to the sacramental priesthood of the Episcopal Church, which marked the culmination and integration of my life steeped in Holy Mystery and proves God has a sense of humor. Regardless of my several vocations, mine is a ministry of accompaniment; of walking alongside clergy and lay people as they deepen their relationships with themselves, each other and with “Something More” that some call God.​"

A very special service and an opportunity to celebrate the holidays with your UU Santa Fe friends—and guests are welcome, too! We will provide a few items, but most will come from you. We ask each person attending to bring an appetizer or dessert (no mains or salads) to serve 8-12 people.

Please complete the RSVP form above to let us know how many are attending, what you will bring and whether you can help set up or clean up (or both!).

​We'll be seated at festive tables in Fogelson and Fellowship Halls for this event.

Ring Out Freedom Bell Ringing at the Roundhouse

Want to have some fun? Join our motley crew on Friday evenings to Ring Out Freedom. We gather at the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Paseo de Peralta, by the Capitol, at 4 pm. Bring a bell or noise maker (we have some if you don’t) and the sign of your choice—there are SO MANY issues to be concerned about! If you don’t have a sign, just make some noise with the rest of us. Last week there were lots of horn toots, peace signs, waves and smiles. And we had a great time! It takes less than an hour and is very rewarding.

Ready for the holidays? Do you have diabetes or love someone who does? What MUST you do? Learn from Karen Meadows, who has had type 1 diabetes since childhood. Karen is a retired and still-certified diabetes educator. She encourages, "Learn how to eat what you love during the holidays and beyond."
